What is Endoscopy?

It is a minimally invasive medical procedure (non-surgical) to test the digestive tract including the esophagus, duodenum, and stomach.

The endoscopic procedure can help identify various digestive disorders and gastrointestinal conditions that can cause symptoms deep inside the body, such as, GERD, stomach ulcers (peptic), hiatal hernia, and even cancer and because it is a non-surgical method, it conveys far fewer chances of bleeding and infection than open surgeries. It assists the doctors to look inside the GI tract and, take tissue samples for examinations if needed.

How is it performed?

Endoscopy is a totally non-surgical procedure. In this process, a flexible tube is used with a camera and light attached to its head that helps the doctor look inside the digestive tract and view the images on the screen.

There are multiple types of endoscopic procedures offered-
